I haven't seen mention of bracing the A7 cabinet port panels. Can this be done without hindering port action? Would it be worthwhile?

Please explain further.
Do you have early plywood cabs? Or the late particle board cabs?
Just having bought a pair of the early cabs, my impression is that they are quite stiff. 3/4" plywood.
The area on either of these that needs stiffening is the horn flare. It's quite thin, and does not pass the knuckle rap test.

Thanks for your replies. I have read much on bracing A7 cabs, including the JM SP article, the Small classic VOTT paper by Jim Dickinson and the vent panels are not specifically mentioned for attention although the Dickinson paper may encompass them in general. My thinking is that the vent panels with one unsupported side would benefit from bracing as much as the top and bottom panels. However, such bracing might interfere with the functioning of the vent.
I am using 3/4 inch. MDF for the cabinet panels. Using quality plywood for the vent panels is a good idea.

Marshall,
The knucle rap test works well. If you think the panel is weak, add a 1x1 glued and screwed diagonal. I do not think it will affect the port at all.
